      <image:caption>Welcome. I’m Lisa Torrance, a BACP-registered counsellor and therapist based in London. I have a diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and since 2018 I have been working on an 1:1 basis with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. I firmly believe that therapy isn’t just for people with ‘issues’ – you don’t need to have identified a specific concern before you look to benefit from therapy. In my practice, I aim to provide a time and a place entirely focused on you in a way that is conducive to growth and, importantly, self-care. Together we can look at why you may be struggling, and I can equip you with the tools to deal with behaviours or thoughts that aren’t so helpful.</image:caption>

      <image:caption>I am a counsellor and therapist, and am proud to be a registered member of the BACP. I spent four years training at The Minster Centre, one on a Foundation course and three earning my diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alongside this, I have been working 1:1 with clients of all backgrounds since 2018. Throughout my training, I worked with private clients, and also at an addiction centre working closely with people suffering with drug and alcohol dependency. I also have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders and those who simply feel in need of some lasting change and self-work, whatever that may be. There doesn’t need to be a specific reason pinpointed to seek out and benefit from therapy. Prior to my work in therapy, I completed an undergraduate degree and then a postgraduate certificate in education which led me into teaching English and drama at secondary school. I saw firsthand the stress young people go through, and this was one of many reasons for my change in career into counselling and psychotherapy.</image:caption>

      <image:title>My Approach - My approach</image:title>
      <image:caption>The approach I take is Integrative, which means I bring together techniques and theories from several different modes of therapy. Some of the many therapeutic ideas I regularly draw from include: - Psychodynamic, which like its precursor psychoanalysis probes the past and explores unconscious relationships - Humanistic, which is rooted in the present and emphasises the importance of being your true self to lead the most fulfilling life - Existential, which looks philosophically at humanity, celebrating our capacity to change whilst acknowledging our natural limitations - Body psychotherapy, which focuses on the language of the body, movement, and breathing techniques for therapeutic benefit With this integrative style, I work to tailor my therapy to the needs of each individual client. No two people are the same, and I believe that working with each person should be primarily about them, creating a collaborative and empathetic space in which the client can grow.</image:caption>
